Peregrinatio

Bruce Cockburn’s song Child of the Wind, contains the following lyrics:

There's roads and there's roads
And they call, can't you hear it?
Roads of the earth
And roads of the spirit
The best roads of all
Are the ones that aren't certain
One of those is where you'll find me
Till they drop the big curtain

Upon moving to Ireland, I discovered the word Peregrinatio which describes leaving one’s home and wandering for God.

Beyond leaving Ithaca, New York, for Dublin, Ireland, in 2012, I have found myself in almost every aspect of life (often not by choice) set adrift. Although the process can sometimes be traumatic, those roads of the Spirit tend to be places of shalom.

And although my desire is to strive forward to the destination… to leave the liminal space…the words I hear whispered over and over are, “Be still.”

That is the journey I find myself on, and it informs everything I write in this newsletter. I find that many others are on a similar trek.

I am always seeking fellow travellers. If you enjoy what you see here, I hope you will subscribe and join in the conversation.

I tend to live inside my head. Occasionally I write down my thoughts and share them here. I hope they get you thinking as well.
